Is it wrong to want to cut oneself out of society?

We have a patch of woodland out in the middle of nowhere in rural Dorset, fed by a small stream and shaded from the worst of the weather. It is mixed woodland bordered by pine and dotted with forgot-me-not, quintessential English stuff.

I have a small cabin on order, no more than a larger, insulated shed really. I am going to erect it in the middle of the woodland and move in as soon as I can, miles from the nearest town or road.

I'll get by by living off of the land, which I have experience of, and spend my days building and maintaining my land and house and chopping wood. No need for contact with the outside world unless I say so, which is absolutely the way I want it. No more gridlock, offices, politicians, wars, rudeness, terror threats and fumes. Just me, some good friends now and again, and the simple life, frozen in time. A bit of fishing and walking when I get tired.

Is it wrong of me, as a young man, to want this from life?

Thanks!

Is it wrong to want to cut oneself out of society?
That sounds like pure heaven and so it should be! Society is highly overrated and well I live in the country side also, with my nearest neighbour 5 miles away and I am a very happy person for it...Life is too short go for it!

Believe me you won't regret it...all you need is the right girl and mans best 4 legged friend to enjoy it all with...

Good luck!
Reply:You go for it sunshine.

Sounds like heaven. ; )
Reply:nothing wrong with this at all.

its your choice, if you have the means and will to do this then by all means go for it.

however i personally would count too much isolation as a negative aspect of this plan - a good circle of friends would help alot in this case. it could also be a little bit hazardous to have no-one else around in case of an accident, so keeping a mobile phone might not be a bad idea.

i recognise your motivation in getting away from certain aspects of society, however as you are probably used to company it may be a bit difficult to change.

ideally if i was in this situation i would need some kind of work or activity to keep me busy so regular trips back into the "real" world might be a good idea also.

also (if its relevant) there are scatterings of "new agers" throughout britain and ireland who go in for this same way of living, maybe research them, they probably have good advice for you.

maybe things were better back when people lived like this.
Reply:Nope, I think most of us would just envy you. Nothing wrong at all.
Reply:Absolutely not, it sounds like heaven, wish I could do the same.
Reply:IL help to make the shed for two be with you tomorrow
Reply:That's what everyone wants but be careful! Remember the film Clockwork Orange? It was banned because of a scene where a man and woman were beaten and the woman died. Stanley kuberick was living in a remote cottage in the UK at the time, probably fearing it could happen to his wife and children as well.
Reply:Wrong? I think not!

Sounds idyllic, really...think I'm jealous
Reply:It's not wrong, but it's mentally unhealthy to feel that way.
Reply:As long as you keep the ability to contact the emergency services then I see the benefit in the peace and quiet, if you decide to go ahead then can I be your friend?....lol
Reply:Not at all I think about it constantly
Reply:Oh, I am right there with ya! I find the human race tiresome and just plain mean most days.
Reply:How can that be wrong? It sounds so right!

Could someone tell about the freemason's? please?

my granda was one but he didn't/couldn't tell anything about it all i could see that he done was go to meetings and playing domino' i know nothing at all about their beliefs!

another thing when he died they gave my gran a little blue flower! she calls it a forget me not but it must symbolise something? no

Could someone tell about the freemason's? please?
I am a Freemason and will be happy to answer honestly and openly.

The Forget Me Not is a Freemason symbol used during Nazi Germany so that Freemasons could recognize each other; they were hunted and killed by the Nazi's.

The Forget Me Not is also used by the Society of Blue Friars (or something like that) which is an invite only body of Freemason Authors.

You are right, not much info about Freemasonry below.

We are a social fraternity that studies morality through ritual, symbol and allegory. Our main tenets are faith, hope and charity and we provide more charity than any other group on the planet.

to some others:

Tribe- knows nothing about freemasonry, there is no master magician (or any kind of magician) in freemasonry

* freemasonry is not a cult

* chick.com is typical of uninformed anti-mason propganda

* interesting story from Bro Dan, that's all it is though

Freemasons for Dummies by Chris Hodapp and Idiot's Guide to Freemasonry by Brent Morris.

Both books are written by Freemasons - while they contain no "secrets" they do offer a lot of good information to Masons and non-masons alike.

Sorry to hear of your Grandfather's passing Report It
Reply:Freemasonry is a fraternal organisation that arose from obscure origins in the late 16th to early 17th century. Freemasonry now exists in various forms all over the world, with a membership estimated at around 5 million, with around 480,000 in England, Scotland and Ireland alone, and just under two million in the United States. The various forms all share moral and metaphysical ideals, which include, in most cases, a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.

The fraternity is administratively organised into Grand Lodges (or sometimes Orients), each of which governs its own jurisdiction, which consists of subordinate (or constituent) Lodges. Grand Lodges recognise each other through a process of landmarks and regularity. There are also appendant bodies, which are organisations related to the main branch of Freemasonry, but with their own independent administration.

To learn more, you can look for a Lodge in your area and speak to someone there. If you're male, you may even discuss joining their organization (if you're female, your father [if you're unwed] or your husband will have to join, and you'll assist other daughters/wives).
Reply:The freemasons were a secret society (which is why your grandad couldn't tell you anything). Freemasonry is still in existence, but back in the 1700s it was mostly a brotherhood of diests (not necessarily a personal savior belief). It was big on constitutional rights, including freedom to worship, but served practically as a mens retreat in which they swore loyalty and patriotism but also sat around and smoked or played games or competed in organized elements like chess or wrestling or whatever...

I think it was basically a mens club that incorporated politics and religion.
Reply:They are the least expensive stone cutters.

In reality the Masons are simply a fraternal organization that actually provide allot of charity for children hospitals all over the country.

They have their secret ceremonies that seem weird to us because we don't practice them, but in reality all ceremonies seem weird if you aren't familiar to them. Imagine drinking the blood of your god to remember him?

I suggest going to a local lodge and getting to know some of the old fellas there. Masons, unlike Christians aren't allowed to ask you to join them, you must approach them.
Reply:Remember when you were a kid, and you had your "fort" and you had to do the initiation, and then you got a secret knock, password, or handshake... all that cool stuff, then you just kinda hung out.

The freemasons were on TV explaining exactly what the whole thing is. They're that "fort". And they don't accept atheists or agnostics, you have to be part of a legitimate religion. So the fact that to get in you HAVE to believe in one of the religions, that includes possibly being a Christian, it doesn't make sense that they would be satanic if believing in and following Jesus could be one of the requirements to get in.
Reply:Contrary to Y/A belief not all Masons are old geezers. Of the Masons that I know a couple are younger and quite hot.

They are now very similar to a fraternity/lodge many families will have the men in the Masons. Like it's been suggested-do a search-there's a ton of interesting information on the Masons.

BTW-The Masonic Temple in DC is beautiful. Fabulous architecture.

Reply:The story is like this. When the Knights Templar came to the Holy Land, they discovered a different Jesus. Jesus did not die on the cross, and he married Magdalene. Mary was pregnant and she went to Europe to escape their enemies. Her womb (the grail) had the bloodline of Jesus (sangre real). This bloodline had descendants who were considered to be king of kings all over Europe but they never went public. Their antagonists were the apostle Paul and, later, the Roman pontiff. To them, Paul was a Roman spy who penetrated the early Church to convert it into a Roman tool of influence. The Knights Templar were destroyed by the Pope but secret societies followed in their footsteps. The Freemasons are among these societies.
Reply:I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

They used to be a group of freethinkers that were heavily involved in the Enlightenment. There's all sorts of conspiracy theories about them. They're not all that involved in anything anymore, unless you think the John Birchers know something everyone else doesn't.

Reply:They are a fraternity. If you want to hang with a bunch of old guys and wear silly hats and aprons, it's for you.

i agree with poo bear fan, the flowers are directing everyone to look at your boobs! Dress is wonderful though!!! Why buy fresh flowers when you only use them for one day, girl go to Michael's or any craft store and have them make your arrangements, my girlfriend did that, cost of flowers went from $800 for fresh to $175!
Reply:I am getting my flowers from http://theflowerexchange.com and making my own bouquets and arrangements.

Most flowers are around $8 a bunch, some less or more depending on the type.

EDIT: The dress is gorgeous =]
Reply:the dress is really pretty however the flowers at the top would add to much attention to the breast area would ask if flowers could be removed or smaller ones put on there
Reply:you can always get flowers ot samsclub.com. you buy in bulk and they are much cheaper. i think 100 roses are about $75.00 with shipping!

I need help on placing quote:?

"If I take away the days when you smiled so true, when you laughed and others would join in too, if I take away the happiness that others sought, I'd leave this palce so forget me not."

Someone gave me this quote once and then I never saw them again so I can't ask them where it's from. This is driving me crazy so if anyone could tell where this is from I'd be eternally grateful.

I need help on placing quote:?
It sounds a bit like a poem. Chances of finding anything on Google would be thin. There are not enough distinctive words. Have you tried?

Planting other plants over tulip bed?

Since tulips only bloom in the spring, they will leave the patch looking barren during the summer? If so, can anything be planted over the tulip bed while ensuring the bulbs are intact for next year? Also, I read that tulip beds should be accompanied by something like forget me not but if the tulips are dead then wont that look awkward?? Any help is appreciated. By the way, I am in NJ - zone 6.

Planting other plants over tulip bed?
We plant tulips and daffodils together ....then let them die down ( they can't be cut back because they use the stem to store food for the next year) After the stalks have died down I plant annuals....usually nasturtiums.
Reply:I have always wondered the same thing. What I do is wait until the entire tulip dies back, remove all the dead foliage then I put a large potted container of flowers over the area to fill the void. I have also planted flowers near the tulips that will vine and spread over the area, such as creeping jenny. Good luck, will be watching to see what other answers you get.
Reply:that depends on if you want the same plants every year... you can put down petunias after the tulips die down.. but they wont come back every year... dont put down anything like hostas.. or anything like that because they will come back and take over...you can always put down flowers that will die off at the end of the year... and then you can change them every year.. and keep your tulips intact. good luck!
Reply:What you do is tie the tulip leaves in a loose knot and plant annuals in front of them

Okay i seriosly need help on my science project?

Okay my science project is I water, water, coffee, and soda to a forget me not (flower) every two days (1/4 cup) and see which one grows faster!!!!

i have no idea what i did wrong maybe water it to much (idk)

but its not growing!!!

HELP!!!

Okay i seriosly need help on my science project?
What you need to do is remember that as long as you can explain what happened, you didn't "get it wrong".

Write up your data and present your conclusions. None of them grew because:

1) I watered them too much. Site source like where the plant lives and the annual rainfall for that area (BTW did you use the orange or the yellow, doesn't matter, just wondering)

2) The lighting in your environment was off some how.

3) You didn't know , but the water you were using was contaminated with acid or something making all the trials the same

Think up something and stick to it.

If the experiment is still going, decrease watering and make note of it in your conclusion.

Did you do some background on this plant before you started. If you didn't , DO IT NOW and put that in there.

Old country music.I found the lyrics?

I found the lyrics to an old country song, forget-me-nots, but i cant find who sang this one.i remember it from yrs back .can you all help.. partial lyrics are as fallows. .In a town in Tennessee, an old man reaches

For a torn and tattered book upon a shelf

He takes it down and opens to

Some pressed forget-me-nots so blue

And he reads her tear-stained letters to himself

Forget me not, regret me not, my darling

I’ll be yours, as long as these blossoms stay true blue

And if our love this meant too bloom, I’ll be back to you real soon

I'm wanting to get a girl a like flowers, what kind should i get?

should i get roses, yellow chrysanthemums, forget-me-not flowers, yellow tulips, or orchids?

i know i'm gonna surprise her with flowers, no she's not my girlfriend, and i don't know if she still likes me or not....could you help out at all? it would be greatly appreiciated.

I'm wanting to get a girl a like flowers, what kind should i get?
Definately go with tulips. They don't have the romantic connotation while being good flowers too. If you know what flowers are her favorites, get those and act all surprised when she says they're her favorite. Good times...
Reply:orchids or chrysanthemums for sure!

good luck

; }
Reply:well red roses if u think she likes u.

yellow roses mean friendship.

and roses like 2 dozen of them. fresh roses alwys always r the best best way man. trust me i want a man too, who gives me roses
Reply:it depends what they are for...if it is for romantic purposes i'd say go for red roses, for anything else either iris's or orchids or her favourite type!
Reply:Personally, I wouldn't go with roses. They just seem to be common when getting flowers. Go with something different. I like the forget-me-nots or the tulips. Or go with a bunch of different flowers.
Reply:If you can't decide, get them all! All girls love flowers, and she'll think something of you, even if she doesn't like you.
Reply:Red roses are very, very classical and romantic! But I love tulips, it depends on what she likes more! I would say if you really like her get her the roses, that will make her surprised for sure! :)
Reply:Those are all pretty good flowers. I think that the best thing to do is to ask one of her friends what her favorite flowers are. That way, you can decide much easier =).
Reply:White and pink roses

it means Peace and admiration ...
Reply:save the flowers for valentines day... just take her out for dinner
Reply:I would get her a mix of flowers... unless you know that she likes a particular kind. That way you cover your bases, and the arrangement is pretty and interesting!
Reply:Seriously, never buy a girl flowers if she isn't already yours. That shows you are the weak one who is begging for her attention. Once you go out on a date get her a flower. Right now just be cool and confident. Flowers make you seem unimaginative and needy.

Are these good lyrics?

i realize i cant put the music for it on here, but i can post the lyrics. just realize, im only 12

Forget me not

Love me lots

We shared the tears

Forget what i said

Where was my head

All those years?

If I could take back what I did

When I was just a stupid kid

I could have said what i want to now

For get me not

Love me lots

Hold my had forever

never leave and never ever

say goodbye

i want you hear with me

and it goes on

wat do u think?

i realize it makes little sense without the music to go with it (i would post it if it was possible) but i just want to no wat u think of the lyrics

oh and btw its about a parent dying and someone regreting not being able to make up with them

Are these good lyrics?
tht is really good like most of the time I thought you were talking about a boyfriend...and at the end....it gets really jumbled...but I really like this and I would like tottally buy a whole cd..if it just had this one song. as long as the music is ok and gos along with it.
Reply:Forget me not

Love me lots

-Sure it rhymes but it just doesn't flow to be sung outloud.

If I could take back what I did

When I was just a stupid kid

I could have said what i want to now

- Sing it ouloud with a slow tempo and it is really good.
Reply:It's actually pretty good. Especially to be only 12.

I'm considering getting a tattoo on my wrist. Has anyone gotten one there? Do you regret it or like it?

What I intend to get is the words "VERY MUCH ALIVE" with a small forget me not flower underneath, but I can't decide where. I'm not worried about it showing. That wouldn't be one of my concerns. So what do you think of the wrist? Also open to other suggestions for good spots for girls.

I'm considering getting a tattoo on my wrist. Has anyone gotten one there? Do you regret it or like it?
I have one on my inner wrist, Its my daughters birthdate with stars separating the numbers. Its not huge, but its not small either. I love it. Im also 25 and a SAHM, so I dont have to worry about it being visable. If you plan on eventually having a job where tattoo's are taboo, it might not be a good spot.
Reply:I have a tattoo on my wrist!! Its really no different than wearing a bracelet!(except a tattoo you can never take it off)
Reply:I have a full sleeve, my last tattoo extends down my wrist and almost onto my hand. I love my tattoos, but regret getting anything on my wrists. Its always visible and harder to cover with long sleeves..

Also, what do you do for work? what WILL you do for work? These should all factor in as to how far down on your arm a tattoo goes.

Do you want to be in your 20s with a wrist tattoo? or do you want to be in your 60s with a wrist tattoo?

I have "Stay Gold" on mine, and I can guarantee that when I'm 50, it won't be too gold anymore.
Reply:you should never get a tattoo that can not be covered up by business casual
Reply:That's going to look silly at your funeral some day...
Reply:nice place. i just got one on my inner right wrist of my gf's initials. its definately gonna show most of the time, but if thats what you want and you dont mind that, go for it. youll get alot of questions about it since it sticks out. but i love tattoos on that part of the body. means you have no shame in what you beleive in ;]
Reply:I dunno about the wrists, i like tattoos alot and never tell people not to get them, thats stupid. i think the wrist would be a good spot if you dont plan on having a job that dont allow tattoos to be showing. go for it if you dont have/plan on having a job like that
Reply:I have a little one on the inside of my wrist. I don't regret it AT ALL. I think it's sort of sexy because it's not OUT THERE. You kinda have to get close to see it. (mine is on the INSIDE of my wrist).......

Some other cool places for girls are.. the back of the neck, hip area, ankle, and.... yup. that's about it. If you want one on the lower back just be prepared for people to refer to it as a "tramp stamp" . haha... =)

%26lt;3
Reply:my sons' initials are tattooed on the inside of my left wrist. i love it becuase it's the only tat that i have that's easily visiable. it's a daily reminder of why i work so hard to succeed.
Reply:I got one just last week on the inside of my left wrist, it's the zodiac sign of my starsign 'Capricorn'. It hurt a little when getting it done, but just a scratchy kinda feeling. The adrenaline cancels out the pain. I love my new tattoo and don't regret it one bit. It's my tag. I swore to all that it would be my first and last, but now i really want another one. I'm thinking a ribbon on the back of my neck! I probably will, but it definately be the last.......

Good luck with getting yours done, I hope you like it.
Reply:I know someone who did. He has to wear long sleeves at work even when it was really hot to cover them or he would be written up or fired. At the time he didn't care because his company let him.

That is a very nice idea for a tat. I would put that by the hip bone on the line of you pants. So you have to slid it down just a little to show anyone. It has a hot appeal and can be your secret if needed.
Reply:both my wrist are done, they didnt hurt, and i dont regret it at all

What is a good groiund cover for shady 1000 s.f. area that is perennial, chokes out weeds and crabgrass, low?

What is a good groiund cover for shady 1000 s.f. area that is perennial, chokes out weeds and crabgrass, low?
Here is a small list of low growing, low maintenance ground covers for shade. Hope this helps!

Pachysandra

English Ivy

Asian Jasmine

Vinca Major or Minor

Ajuga

These are the items I sell the most at my Garden Center as shady ground covers. I can't think of anything that can be sown that won't require mowing. Sorry! Good Luck!
Reply:Pachysandra is my choice. It is easy to grow and spreads quite rapidly.
Reply:dont know
Reply:Why don't you try one of those products with the fertilizer attached to the grass seed?

I've tried a product called "Patch Perfect", and I seemed skeptical at first. It ended up working great with just a little bit of watering and hay to keep the birds out.

Here's a link, https://www.officialtvwebsite.com/patch-...

It's expensive, but I'm telling you, it seriously looked like sod in about a week.
Reply:crown-vetch. you can see it along alot of interstates. looks similar to clover.
Reply:Crown Vetch, It's the very best!!!
Reply:My choice for the same situation with sand and shade was to grow three plants in a mixture. I grow Aegopodium podagraria 'Variegatum' or variegated gout weed with Wood Sorrel, Oxalis violacea, and Sweet Woodruff known as Galium odoratum. These are under my fir trees with some water in the summer to keep them from failing during the summer heat. The oxalis and woodruff dominate in spring but when the heat comes on the gout weed is doing its best. The woodruff is evergreen, and fragrant in spring, but the other two are perennial. They seem to have reached a balance with each other and the trees they grow under with the help of a lot of compost %26amp; mulch originally. Now I just topdress with mulch thinly to replace what leaches into the sandy soil. If the shade cover is deciduous you could have very early bulbs like Siberian squill, crocus, and snow drops. Lily-of-the-Valley is an aggressive plant that will cover an area and is very pretty in spring but not much the rest of the year. I would interplant this with other ground covers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodruff

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxalis

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aegopodium_...

Another lovely choice is Pachysandra terminalis. It does very well in shade with periods of dryness. The leaves are interesting and the coverage is dense. There is even a variegated form that shows up well in shade and at dusk.

http://www.peekskillnurseries.com/pachys...

http://hcs.osu.edu/pocketgardener/source...

Another evergreen is Euonymous. This is called winter creeper but it gets pretty straggly if in to much shade.

Vinca (periwinkle), will do okay if it gets dry for short periods but this, alone is not a dense cover for my sandy soil. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vinca

Kenilworth ivy (this is a trailing plant Cymbalaria muralis with no relation to English ivy) is a delicate ground cover plant. The 'ivy' likes a bit more moisture but will pile quite deeply in the right conditions. This could interplant with 'Irish moss', Sagina subulata. Bright green, low growing like a true moss but with tiny, white, spring flowers like little white spangles sprinkled on emerald velvet. Comes in two green shades, a very bright new grass green or a darker grass green. The dark one is sometimes called 'Scotch Moss'. These 'mosses' like the Kenilworth ivy like it moist with morning light and afternoon shade or dappled shade all day.

In the back under trees the violets (Viola odorata, V labradorica) took hold. They stay nicely in bounds by being walked on. They also smell wonderful in spring. I like the labradorica for the purple undertones to the leaves contrasting with V. odorata. Then in spring the flowers are also different in April and May. These are easily sown by seed and they will continue to spread by seed. http://www.thegardenhelper.com/Viola.htm

Wire vine (Muehlenbeckia axillaris) needs to be sheared in spring to refresh and thicken the plants or it will mound up higher in patches. I have that in one bed with afternoon shade. It makes a good natural mulch. http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/7939...

Evergreen strawberry Fragaria 'Pink Panda' or other flowering forms. Strawberries spread rapidly even into shade. I found this out the hard way. No berries in the shade just lots of plants.

Another very low grower is sheepburr, Acaena saccaticupula 'Blue Haze,' in a lovely blue-green. There is also a copper colored one 'Kupferteppich' (Acaena microphylla) also called "Copper Carpet" in this country.http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/90357/

Acaena inermis 'Purpurea' with dark purple coloured foliage is also very low at 3 inches.

For something unusual dwarf bamboo Sasa veitchii 'Nana' commonly called Nagasa bamboo. It grows to 3 ft. if left unmowed. Leaves develop cream margins in Fall. Sasa veitchii minor gets only 12 inches tall. Bamboos can be mowed to control and renew them like any grass, just less often. Note these are running bamboo so vigorous shovel edging is needed to keep any running bamboo in place. These are good for places bounded by cement.

Reply:I have 2 things in my yard that grow and spread both bloom in the spring. One is called Sedum it blooms yellor or red and the other are Perriwinkles they bloom dark blue. Both do well in shade and are low growing.
Reply:Vinca, hands down. Grows fast and spreads fast. Has attractive green foliage and pretty blue flowers when in bloom. Can be a bit invasive, but it is shallow rooted and can be pulled out easily if it shows up somewhere unwanted.

Here is an article with pic. http://landscaping.about.com/od/groundco...

What is it about Bush & Company that makes both George and his corporate cronies so hamhanded about ethics?

Take Bush's recent attempt to shove Michael Baroody into the charimanship of the Consumer Products Safety Commission. This watchdog agency is supposed to protect the public from manufacturers who make shoddy products that harm or kill people. So – is Baroody a noted consumer advocate?

Hardly! He's the top lobbyist for the National Association of Manufacturers! Yes, he represents the very makers of the dangerous and deadly products the agency is supposed to guard against. With this appointment, Bush was not merely putting the fox in the henhouse – he was trying to deliver the hens directly to the fox's den!

To make this obvious conflict of interest even stinkier, the NAM came up with an under-the-table scheme to subsidize Baroody's salary at the consumer agency, promising to hand him a forget-me-not of $150,000. The Bushites knew about this payment – yet saw nothing even slightly unethical about it.

What is it about Bush %26amp; Company that makes both George and his corporate cronies so hamhanded about ethics?
The biggest problem is that Bush is just plain stupid. He has also surrounded himself with advisers who, like him, live in the corporate world of fantasy.

As Ron White once said, you can get knees replaced, hearing aids for deafness, surgery for vision, etc., but "You Can't Fix Stupid."
Reply:They're on a "mission from God"
Reply:I've been gravely disappointed by this administration. However, when you focus on them entirely, your bias shows through. Previous administrations, particularly Clinton, Carter, and Nixon, have had far more ethical questions raised about their cabinet members and other admin. officials. Try not to be so one-sided.
Reply:They're not as bad as the Clintons, though. Sometimes things fall through the cracks.

A poem by myself, tell me what you think!?

Forget Me Not

If I told you a tale woven with pearls, Would you wonder of how it came to be? If you were to ask, I would tell you this...

A lady of the wood lived within a whitened willow.

She a prisoner of her soul wore a single flower. The flower of sorrow. She lay in her tree and thinketh of something that might have been.

As she slept within in a dream on warm summer's eve,

She found herself looking upon a familiar sight.

A far away dream within a dream....Faded, yet passionate.

A deserted hope of a once renewed power of Promise,

The Promise of an eternal bond of sweet passion,

Once found within a heart of the blossoming flower of sorrow,

This Promise found through a premonition of forbidden freedom. Within a hope of a dream,

She woke to find her bonds forever cut with the razor of forgiving love.

A love that scars the face of deceit and smashes a prison of clear molten glass. And within the same night,

She left her willow to find the lost dream

A poem by myself, tell me what you think!?
It's deep. And if it's really by you, we all know you're Lauren Edwards, or at least, that's your pen-name. I'll be looking for your next anthology at Barnes and Nobles or Borders.
Reply:you wrote that?! thats a great poem! I really liked it, incredibly deep
Reply:Interesting would have been clearer and easier to read had there been proper punctuation.

You could easily refine your concepts and make your poem a lot clearer.
Reply:its really good. keep the work up.

Discontinued Croscill patterns? I have called the outlets, no luck?

I am searching for the Croscill pattern called Forget Me Not. I want the bath accessories.

Discontinued Croscill patterns? I have called the outlets, no luck?
I know how you feel. I'm trying to find a discontinued fabric from Schumacher and the outlets want $85/yard...and I only paid $5/yard for it in the fabric store a year ago. The best I can suggest is that you put a wish list posting on eBay and see if anyone comes through for you.

It's been a year and six months... why can't I let go?

My boyfriend and I broke up when I left for college. We attempted the long distance thing, but the relationship caved underneath the stress of trying to keep the bond when your 400 miles apart. I'm tired of hearing give it time, things will get better. I've got plenty to handle, to distract me from thoughts of him. I go out, I concentrate on my studies, I participate in clubs, and activities with friends. But it's only a temporary solution. 18 months is ample time for something like this to heal... and things may have gotten a little better, but the pain still lurks in the shadows. I've accepted that it's over, that we can never again be, and that its actually for the best. But I still have feelings of love... and some of hate. I hate him b/c I can't forget him, like he's forgotten me. Not a day goes by that he still doesnt cross my mind. Why is it that he so easily has moved on, but yet I'm stuck? How do I finally release this love thats long gone? How do I let go of my first love?

It's been a year and six months... why can't I let go?
Do you have any items that remind you of him? Put them away and in a box, and keep them as far out of reach as possible.

Do you still talk to him? It's much easier if you don't.

It sounds like you're still in love with him, even if you don't want to be. You can do the things above, and more. Seperate him from your life. If you don't see him or his things, it's less likely that you'll think about him, and the bond will wear down faster.

Another thing you can do is take a peice of paper and write down all of the things you liked about the relationship on one side, and on the other, all the things you didn't like. Everything about that relationship on this one peice of paper. Then, rip it up into little peices and throw them in the trash (or recycle bin). Think about the good times and the bad times while you get rid of the peice of paper. As soon as every peice of this paper is gone from you and your hands, think, "it's not going to bother me anymore". "I am perfectly fine without him -- it was good while it could be good, and I will take the good times and make them better for my next love" You don't have to say that exactilly, but something along those lines. It's more psychological than anything, but it might help you move on.

Hope all of that helped. (:
Reply:you will never completely get over your first love. he will always be in the back of your head and you will compare other men to him. he changed your life he had an impact. and thats ok. one day you will find the right person for you and you will be able to look back on your past fondly and remember that he helped make you who you are he helped you get ready for your real true love
Reply:When you find out tell me..........
Reply:There isn't a lot more you can do except what you're doing...I know you hate hearing this but only time can heal these wounds so keep doing things to get your mind off him and soon enough one day he'll just be gone from your mind
Reply:I am really sorry to say this, but I don't think that you ever really totally get over your first love. It fades a bit, and then some more...you move on...but he is the one that started the ball rolling, the one who got in before you knew to defend your heart. He will always pop into your thoughts from time to time, even when you truly have moved on and love someone else.

I don't know if this holds true for men and their first loves, but most women seem to have this problem. Can't be helped. But time does help and you will love other people. Just differently. Which is a good thing. And he will just be a fond memory
Reply:Time...
Reply:it doesn't matter if it's ten years, if you choose not to let go, you won't. you say that you've let go, but deep inside you still haven't decided that. you try to convince yourself, but you know you're fooling yourself. YOU HAVE TO DECIDE TO LET GO. if you're somehow hoping things will go back to before, you're not helping yourself.
Reply:Its about time yes. But not for you to time it. Depending on how much u were attached to the person it would definetely take time for u to be over it. Realise also that u will always know u loved him deeply even if u are no longer in love with him. That particular attachment cannot just be ripped off and uve got to face it.

With time everything will be fine. I know u hate that by now but no way out.

It will be okay. Keep on focusing on other things other than him. Because otherwise u will remain stuck. He has moved on probably because he is not thinking of what u are thinking of him but u keep him in your mind by wondering how has he managed/ didnt he love me the same way? is he happy where he is? I hate him or love him? THAT WAY YOUR FOCUS IS STILL ON HIM.

ONLY DIFFERENTLY.

U are the only one who can make that change

All the best
Reply:You need to move on before you can 4get, him trust me the same thing happened to me, the reason you still have feelings for him is because you guys could have been together if you lived closer. Simple as that you mind plays tricks and says what if
Reply:Why do think he's just moved on and never thinks about you?? The reason you can't let go is bc like you said you still have anger toward him. You have to let that go and see that everything happens for a reason. You said it was for the best so you must see that. Something I think your missing is that you can't cover something up forever and not deal with it. You say that you do this and that but have you ever just sat down and dealt with it? Your life doesn't sound that bad. You will have to deal with the past before you even begin to look at the future. Just take it one step at a time. Find a friend who understands and will be there.
Reply:ive been through this. the thing is people try to stop loving so it hurts.once you open your heart to another there is no going back. try accepting the new distance and keep on loving them.

it only appears easy for him,let me tell you; as a guy, it usually takes men longer than even they know to get over a relationship.

we are masters of the mask! hope this finds you well!!

Where to get a custom flower arrangement?

I'm not going for looks so much, but as thought behind it as these are her favorite flowers, and from any of the online flower places (1800, ftd, etc) they are only sold as pre-set arrangements. Would a local florist be able to provide me with some random flowers for me to arrange myself, or do they always sell pre-set arrangements?

I'm going for:

Forget me Not

Tulips

Orchids

Lily of the Valley

Are these common enough to find at any florist, or are these out of line?

Where to get a custom flower arrangement?
Contact your local florist,

they will be able to order these flowers for you in any amount.

just be prepared to pay. Try your local green houses and your large grocery stores, most have a flower section
